Finding the Best Weights for P90X

In order to be successful with the P90X program, users are going to have to think about resistance. Resistance is the key factor in getting the very best from the program but which weights are best to use?
Well, firstly, there are two different options to look at – dumbbells or bands. Both are good however, the dumbbells are more preferable because of the popularity factor. Of course, many like to avoid these however, they can offer the best workout for resistance.
There are actually three options to look at when it comes to resistance for the best weights for P90X program, those are:

  • Adjustable dumbbells
  • Hex dumbbells
They are all really good to look at but let’s look at each of these a little closer in order to find the best option for you.

Adjustable Dumbbells

Adjustable dumbbells are a good choice however; there are a lot of cheap imitations out there. If you choose the wrong ones, the imitation ones, they are going to be of poor quality. However, you could look at these two types without worrying about quality:

So let’s first of all say that best weights for  P90X program and getting the most from it, the adjustable dumbbells are the best choice. They are even the most inexpensive option to look at and they probably will cost around $600 for a good set.

The Power Block dumbbells are inferior somewhat compared to the other dumbbell sets out there however, that doesn’t mean they aren’t good to choose from. Of course the amount of weight you can get with these dumbbells aren’t as great as what you would get with other sets though the price seems to be making up for that.
They aren’t as flexible as what you would like also, however, they are larger and bulkier also. Though, these weights don’t slip when you are trying to use them. They are built really well and they are really good to use also.

The Hex Dumbbells

If you are trying to get heavier dumbbells then the Hex dumbbells are probably going to be the best sets of weights to choose from. They are going to cost a little more than what you might expect but if you have the money then spend it because the set is worth it.
These also going to be quite bulky so you will need a lot of room to house these; however, you don’t need to have a complete set if you are a beginner so don’t worry too much about that. Then again, you can choose the sizes you will need.

Resistance Bands

The resistance bands for the P90X are the second choice to look at when it comes to your best weights for P90X program. Of course, these are a little more different than the dumbbells to choose from but they can be just as effective.
Then again, for many experts, they don’t think the resistance bands are going to be the better option for the P90X program however, many still like this option. The best thing of all with these bands has to be the price.
For those who are on a tight budget or just don’t want to spend a good few hundred, the resistance bands are the choice to look at. They mightn’t even cost $50 or $60 which is really good if the quality of the band is good too!
However, they aren’t as effective as what the dumbbells are which are a big problem and a big negative point to the dumbbells. Of course, you are still going to be able to get results – good results nonetheless, but maybe not as much as with the dumbbells. Then again, it’s really all down to the one on the program and how hard they work.
For those who are inexperienced, they could find that they get more pain when they are done after the program. However, the pain should go away after a while and all beginners will experience some pain every now and again.
To be honest, everyone is different so it might be that one person prefers to use one set of weights than another and some might prefer the dumbbells over the resistance bands and vice versa. It is very difficult to know what works best unless they are both tested out.
However, if you are on a budget or just don’t want to use weights, then the bands are better for you. However, if you have the money to spend, the dumbbells could be the better choice. Of course, it all varies from one person to the other.
